Elephant Headphone EQ Chrome Extension

Audio processing

All audio processing happens entirely within your browser. No audio data is ever captured, recorded, transmitted, or stored by the extension. The extension applies real-time equalization to your browser tab's audio output using the Web Audio API, and the processed audio plays directly to your headphones.

Permissions and why we need them

• Tab audio access — Required to capture and process audio from the active browser tab. Audio is processed locally and never leaves your device.
• Storage — Used to save your headphone profiles and EQ settings locally in your browser. This data stays on your device.
• Content script injection — Required to intercept media elements on web pages for audio processing. The extension does not read, modify, or collect any page content, URLs, or browsing data.

Network requests

The extension contacts our cloud compute API solely to generate headphone correction profiles. Only your selected headphone model name is sent to the server. No audio, browsing data, personal information, or usage analytics are transmitted. The generated profile is returned to your browser and stored locally.

Data stored locally

The extension stores headphone correction profiles and your EQ preferences in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time using the link in any email we send. You can remove the Chrome extension at any time, which deletes all locally stored data. You can also contact us to request deletion of your data.
